What to do
- Do not massage the injection points, as the product needs to spread on its own
- No makeup over the injection points for twelve hours
- No strenuous exercise, saunas or steam rooms for 24 hours
- Avoid alcohol for 24 hours
- No facials, peels or other treatments over the area for two weeks
- Keep your skin well protected from the sun while it recovers
What is normal
- Small raised bumps at the injection points, which usually settle within 24 to 48 hours
- Mild swelling, redness or tenderness
- Occasional bruising
When to call
Serious complications are rare with Profhilo, as it is placed at set points chosen for safety. The main risk is infection at an injection site, which is minimised with careful aseptic technique. As with any hyaluronic acid product, it can be dissolved with hyaluronidase if needed, and you are given a number to call if you have any concerns after treatment.
