Why clients travel from St Neots

Aesthetic treatments are still largely unregulated in the UK, so who treats you matters. Every member of the Avismo team is a regulated healthcare professional. Karen, who founded the clinic in 2014, is a registered nurse and independent nurse prescriber, regulated by the Nursing and Midwifery Council. Andrea, a registered nurse of more than 40 years, is also regulated by the Nursing and Midwifery Council, and Lorna, an operating department practitioner, is regulated by the Health and Care Professions Council.

The clinic is Save Face accredited and recommended in The Tweakments Guide. For clients from St Neots, that independent recognition is often what makes a 30 minute drive feel worthwhile, particularly for injectable treatments where assessment, product choice and aftercare make the biggest difference.

We also offer treatments that are less widely available, such as radiofrequency microneedling, HIFU, polynucleotides, exosomes and Map My Mole checks, so some clients come to us for one specific treatment and stay for their wider skin care.

Getting to the clinic from St Neots

There are a couple of sensible routes depending on where in St Neots you start. Many people head north on the A1 towards Huntingdon and then pick up the A14 and A1123 into St Ives. Others take the A428 east and cut north on the A1198 through Papworth, joining the A14 before turning off for St Ives.

Allow around 30 minutes in normal traffic. Edison Road is on the edge of St Ives, so you can avoid the town centre. We have plenty of parking on site, and we are happy to talk you through the last part of the journey if it is your first visit.

Because the journey is a little longer, we try to plan appointments sensibly. If a treatment involves a course, such as microneedling or a peel programme, we can talk through spacing that works around your commute.

What St Neots clients often book

Clients from St Neots often book treatments where it is worth travelling for experience. Dermal filler and Radiesse for volume loss and contour, Profhilo for hydration and firmness, and radiofrequency microneedling for skin tightening and scarring are all regular requests.

HIFU is popular with people who want to address early sagging along the jawline and neck without injections, and polynucleotides are a common choice for thin, crepey skin around the eyes. We will always suggest what suits your skin, even if it is not the treatment you came in asking about.

What a first visit looks like

Your first appointment is a free consultation, and there is no obligation to go ahead with anything. We start by talking through what you would like to change, what you have tried before, and your medical history, including any medication, allergies and previous treatments. This matters for safety and it helps us understand whether a treatment is right for you at all.

We then look closely at your skin and face, often in different lighting, and explain what we can see. If you would like more detail, a facial skin analysis with the MC10 system shows what is happening beneath the surface. From there we suggest a plan, explain how each option works, what results are realistic, how long they tend to last, the possible side effects and the cost, so you can decide in your own time.

Prescription-only treatments, such as anti-wrinkle injections, are only prescribed after a face-to-face consultation with Karen, who is an independent nurse prescriber, and the treatment itself always takes place on a different day. Some other treatments can be carried out on the same day if it is appropriate and you are comfortable, and others need a patch test or a separate appointment. Either way, you will leave knowing exactly what the next step would be.
