Exosomes aftercare

Worried about anything after your treatment? Call or message the clinic on 07958 129660. If it is urgent and you cannot reach us, call NHS 111, or 999 in an emergency.

What to do

  • Avoid touching your face for the rest of the day
  • No makeup for 24 hours
  • Cleanse gently with water or a mild cleanser for the first 24 hours
  • Avoid exercise, saunas, swimming and direct sun for 48 hours
  • Avoid acids, retinoids and exfoliants for around five days
  • Wear a broad-spectrum SPF every day

What is normal

  • Mild redness or sensitivity for a day or so
  • Tightness or light dryness as the skin settles
  • Pinpoint marks from microneedling for the first day

When to call

Exosomes are applied to the skin rather than injected, and the main risks are those of the microneedling that accompanies them, chiefly infection. This is reduced by sterile single-use needle cartridges, careful technique and following your aftercare. Allergic or irritant reactions are uncommon. Because exosomes work by signalling to cells, anyone with an active cancer diagnosis or on immunosuppressive treatment is assessed individually and may be advised not to go ahead.
