Dermaplaning aftercare

Worried about anything after your treatment? Call or message the clinic on 07958 129660. If it is urgent and you cannot reach us, call NHS 111, or 999 in an emergency.

What to do

  • Apply a broad spectrum SPF 50 every day, as freshly exfoliated skin is more vulnerable to the sun
  • Avoid makeup for the rest of the day if you can, to let your skin breathe
  • Skip retinoids, acids and scrubs for a few days
  • Avoid saunas, steam rooms, swimming and heavy exercise for 24 hours
  • Keep your skin well moisturised with gentle products

What is normal

  • Slight redness or pinkness for a few hours
  • A temporary feeling of sensitivity, especially if you have a peel at the same time

When to call

Dermaplaning is a low-risk treatment when carried out by a trained practitioner. Small nicks are uncommon and heal quickly. Infection or a flare of breakouts is rare and is reduced by treating only calm, healthy skin with a sterile single-use blade. Contact the clinic if you notice anything unusual afterwards.

The clinic number is 07958 129660. If you are worried, call or message rather than wait. If you cannot reach us and it is urgent, call NHS 111, or 999 in an emergency.
